The Myth, The Fallacy, The Lie, The Commitment!

(2 min read)

In the world of competitive shooting, sponsorships are a common and often necessary part of the sport. Brands seek out skilled shooters to represent their products, hoping to gain visibility and credibility through their ambassadors. However, there’s a growing trend that raises questions about the authenticity of these endorsements.

The Myth

Many believe that sponsored shooters exclusively use the products they promote. Social media is flooded with posts of athletes showcasing their sponsor’s gear, creating an illusion of unwavering loyalty and trust in the product. Followers and fans are led to believe that these shooters rely on these products in every aspect of their training and competition.

The Fallacy

It’s becoming common for sponsored athletes to practice with their sponsor’s bullets but switch to other brands during actual competitions. This switch undermines the credibility of the sponsorship and misleads the audience. At the recent Africa Handgun Championships, it was evident that some brand ambassadors were using copper bullets and/or factory ammunition, despite promoting different polymer-coated brands on their social media. While this isn’t true for everyone, it does apply to a significant percentage. We understand that people get new guns with not enough time to test and have various other (sometimes valid) excuses, not to mention match ammunition internationally which can be out of their control. However, if you are swapping and changing bullets between practice, training and local matches why mislead the public, if you don’t trust your sponsored brand for local Level 3+ matches, don’t use it at all.

The Lie

This discrepancy between promotion and actual use is not just a harmless oversight; it’s a lie that can damage the integrity of the endorsement and the trust of the audience. When athletes endorse bullets, they don’t fully believe in or use, it creates a false narrative and diminishes the value of genuine sponsorships.

Zero Mike Bullets: A Commitment to Authenticity

At Zero Mike Bullets, we take pride in our commitment to authenticity. Our sponsored shooters not only promote our bullets but also use them in major match competitions that are of course in their control. Our sponsored athletes believe in the quality and performance of our products, and them using it in training and achieving top tier positions in major matches is a testament to that. By having our sponsored ambassadors genuinely use our products, we maintain the integrity of our brand and the trust of our customers. We take their feedback seriously, adapt, learn and adopt new approaches in ensuring a better experience.

Conclusion

In a world where social media can blur the lines between reality and promotion, it’s crucial for brands and sponsored athletes to uphold honesty and endorsements transparent. It should be based on genuine belief in the sponsor, not just for the sake of visibility. At Zero Mike Bullets, we stand by our commitment to authenticity, ensuring that our bullets are not just showcased but truly trusted by those who use them. So, the next time you at a Level 3+ match pick up a competitor’s brand ambassadors’ magazine and see what they are running. Remember though, pick up off the floor as theres plenty of smoke and mirrors that can happen between stages, and you will not find any of that with Zero Mike Bullets and its ambassadors.

Stay tuned for more updates! 📢 Let’s shape the future of shooting together.

  1. I wonder… what bullets does your co-founder, Mo Osman use?
Don’t answer, because I know for a fact he uses Frontier CMJ’s…

That is a little telling, wouldn’t you say?

    1. So I decided to make this comment public, as we at Zero Mike Bullets have nothing to hide.

Mr. Anon, if you were so sure of yourself, you should have posted with your real details and not hidden behind pseudonyms. God alone knows we have had many pseudonyms over the last 3 years, and we don’t need any more. The article was, in fact, written by myself, Mo Osman, and I can guarantee you that I do not shoot Frontier CMJs; I only use my bullets (no offense to Frontier at all).

Mr. Anon, if you would like to take this up further, you can email me directly. You have it. I have no need to hide behind pseudonyms.
